Dr. Sarah Gander
Clinical Lead & Pediatrician
Dr. Sarah Gander is a Social Pediatrician for Horizon Health Network and Associate Professor faculty at Dalhousie University. Dr Gander started her research career in her undergraduate degree at UNBSJ and once trained as a Pediatrician, came home to Saint John to serve children and families in the community, particularly those living in poverty. She is the co-founder and Board Chair of NB Social Pediatrics Inc.

Roxanne Kasdan
Registered Nurse
Roxanne Kasdan has been a Registered Nurse with Horizon Health Network since 1987. She worked on the General Pediatrics ward for 20 years before working in Developmental Pediatrics. She now serves in the role of Physician-family liaison in the NB Social Pediatrics Clinic (Pediatrics on Princess) where she continues to enjoy our community’s families

Roxanne Kasdan has been a Registered Nurse with Horizon Health Network since 1987. She worked on the General Pediatrics ward for 20 years before working in Developmental Pediatrics. Destiny Leblanc
Program & Events Coordinator
Destiny LeBlanc is the Program and Events Coordinator at NB Social Pediatrics. Destiny completed her BSc at Memorial University with a major in Behavioral Neuroscience. Since graduating she has been dedicated to working with children and their families. In her role at NBSP, Destiny coordinates, develops, and facilitates programs and events, that take a strength-based approach to child, youth, and family development.

Shannon Lawton

Shannon Lawton is the administrative assistant to Dr Sarah Gander and the first face you see when entering the POP Centre. Shannon has been working in medical administration for over 15 years and has experience in surgery, laboratory services and mental health. In her role at the POP Centre, Shannon keeps everything organized and helps create a warm, welcoming space for all who enter.

Jenette Forbes is the Community Social Pediatrics Advocate at the POP Centre. Most of Jenette’s work experience derives from her various roles at FACE, Family and Child Education Program Anglophone South, building strong and trusting relationships with the children and families. Jenette plays a crucial role in successfully advocating on behalf of the children and their families through supporting needs, strengths, and potential barriers.
