Eyeing the ID:
Access to Identification as a Barrier to Banking and other Social Determinants of Health
A collaboration with
NB Social Pediatrics and the Saint John Community Loan Fund are interested in understanding the barriers that prevent people from accessing traditional bank accounts so that we can make recommendations to help our community escape cycles of debt. We believe that access to identification (ID) is a factor in accessing other services in the community and would like to learn more about how significant this issue is and assess public perception towards alternatives to traditional ID cards.
We are conducting two surveys - one for the general public and one for industry professionals and community partners who work with clients who may experience barriers to services due to lack of ID.
